Good scores across the board in RiDE's September 2008 test make this their best combination of performance and low price. Its abrasion resistance is acceptable, burst resistance is the highest of all the suits in their test and the impact results are all comfortably within the safety standard laid down in Europe.

Add a good waterproofing score, where the suit and main pockets were completely leak-free, and a glowing road test report, and these jeans won RiDE's Best Buy triangle when used with the Dynastar Jacket. The road tester described the trousers as brilliant and said the only problem with the jacket was a slight bunching at the waist. The warmth score is below average for those on the test, but the road tester found it warm in general use.

Summary	Bought these with great expectations as I also have the Dynastar II jacket. Massively disappointed with the fit due to the location of the knee armour. If you have an inside leg greater than 32", these are never going to fit you because of the location of the knee armour. It will either (painfully) try to fold round your knee or sit above it (which is useless). Shame really, because other than that they were well made, felt warm and if built like the jacket would be water-resistant.

	Shame the well made trousers can't match the matching jackets' performance. We tried four sets without ever getting a pair where the knee armour wasn't uncomfortable - the only suit we had this problem with. So try the strides before you buy; if they fit you'll be quids in.
